Indore Metro delay story is becoming honestly tiring now,because this is not first or second missed date . Commercial operations for 5.9-km corridor from Super Corridor to Radisson Square have been postponed again,and this is now sixth consecutive missed deadline.
And for commuters who were expecting metro to finally start from June 21,this must feel very frustrating . You keep seeing trial runs,stations,infrastructure,announcements… but actual service still not starting .
Now bigger issue is safety clearance also . Metro authorities have started process to get fresh clearance from Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS),because earlier approval is set to expire on June 24 . So because launch missed deadline again,this extra approval step could push things back by at least another month.
Few things standing out clearly here:

What makes this more confusing is that Indore Metro project has already seen so many revised timelines . It was originally scheduled for completion in October 2025,then dates kept shifting to December 2025,March 2026,and April 2026 . Most recent proposed inauguration was by Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar .
And honestly,this is where public anger makes sense . If safety clearance was already secured and trial runs were completed,then why was launch not handled before expiry date came so close? Not small thing ah,because one missed administrative window can now mean another month of waiting.
Additional Chief Secretary Sanjay Dubey has now reviewed project personally and stressed on safety and traffic management . Fair enough,safety cannot be rushed . But at same time,people also want basic accountability when promised services keep getting delayed again and again.
This corridor is not some random route also . Super Corridor to Radisson Square is important commercial stretch,and lack of metro service is affecting residents,businesses and daily commuters who were hoping for modern transport option for long time .
Local officials are clearly under pressure rn,because public patience is thinning . People can understand one delay,two delays maybe,but sixth missed deadline starts looking like poor planning more than bad luck .
And now everyone is waiting for new approvals,another likely timeline,another promise . But after so many missed dates,real question is simple only… when will people actually be able to board Indore Metro?
