Key Takeaways

  • Gandhi highlights students' CBSE evaluation struggles
  • Vedant's incorrect answer sheet sparks outrage
  • CBSE to launch new portal for re-evaluation applications

This CBSE marks issue is honestly getting more uncomfortable now, especially after Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, posted about it on May 31,2026 . Because this is not just some small complaint about marks ah,students are saying their actual answer sheets and uploaded documents are not matching .

In video he posted,Rahul Gandhi interacted with Vedant and other students who have been struggling to get their answer booklets . He called them ‘brilliant, brave young Indians’ and said they raised legitimate concerns about CBSE evaluation process, but got insults instead of proper answers from government .

And case of Vedant is where many parents and students got seriously worried . He is Class 12 student who got unexpectedly low marks in Physics, and then applied for photocopy of his answer sheet on May 19 . But when CBSE uploaded document,it was allegedly not his answer sheet only.

Vedant then shared his frustration online, saying,“I am shattered because Physics answer sheet uploaded by CBSE is not mine.” That post went viral fast, getting over 3.5 million views, and suddenly whole issue became much bigger than one student’s result.

Few things standing out clearly in this CBSE mess:

  • CBSE acknowledged evaluation errors and said corrective measures will be taken.
  • CBSE assigned dedicated investigation team to resolve these issues on priority.
  • New re-evaluation portal for verification and re-evaluation will be operational from June 1 .

After uproar,CBSE confirmed on May 25 that Vedant’s correct answer sheet was emailed to him,and his result would be revised after re-evaluation . Board also contacted Vedant’s family and assured them that error would be rectified .

But tbh, this raises bigger question about On-Screen Marking system introduced this year . Idea was to digitize evaluation, but students have been complaining about lower marks compared to their performance in competitive exams like JEE . When marks decide admissions and future options, this kind of confusion is not small thing .

There were also technical glitches on CBSE online portal, including fluctuating fees for photocopies of answer sheets . Board says it is working on these problems with experts from IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur, and payment gateway issues were resolved with help from public sector banks like State Bank of India.

Now CBSE is saying Post-Result Activities portal will launch and Class 12 students can apply for verification and re-evaluation,which should improve transparency and accountability . But still, for students who already spent days panicking over wrong marks or wrong answer sheets, who takes responsibility for that stress…
