On May 30,2026 ,PIB Fact Check unit had to come out and clear air after misleading posts started circulating about some gift or reward scheme called 'Dak Seva Gifts'.
Basically, claim being shared on different platforms suggested that India Post was offering gifts or rewards under this so-called scheme . But PIB Fact Check clearly said this is false and there is no such connection .
The exact clarification was,“@IndiaPostOffice has no connection with any such ‘Dak Seva Gifts’ offer, reward scheme,or lucky draw.” And honestly, this is the kind of line people should read twice before clicking any random link.
Because these scams are not small thing ah . One fake gift message, one attractive reward link, and suddenly people are asked to enter bank details,OTP,Aadhaar numbers or other sensitive information . That is where damage starts .
Few things standing out clearly here:
- PIB Fact Check said 'Dak Seva Gifts' claim is entirely false.
- India Post has no connection with any offer, reward scheme,or lucky draw.
- People have been warned not to click suspicious links or share bank information,OTPs,or Aadhaar numbers.
And this warning has come soon after another scam alert involving a fake investment scheme falsely linked to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman . That one was promoted under name “Quantum AI” and claimed people could earn ₹3 lakh every month from investment of just ₹22,000.
PIB Fact Check had also flagged that scheme and said,“Fraudsters are running ‘Quantum AI’ investment scheme in name of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman,” . They made it clear neither finance minister nor government supports such platforms .
Tbh,the pattern is very obvious now . First they use trusted name like India Post or Nirmala Sitharaman, then they offer gift, lucky draw or huge returns, and then they push people to click fast without thinking.
But real problem is,these messages keep spreading because they look simple and harmless at first . Someone forwards in family group, someone thinks maybe government benefit is there, and from there scam gets new victims only.
And with so many fake links floating around rn,question is how many people will actually pause and verify before entering personal details…
