Just read this news coming from Odisha and it's actually unbelievable . The government has found thousands of errors in school textbooks for young kids. We are talking about books for Classes I to VIII.
And now,the Odisha government is rightly taking this very seriously . Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi himself has ordered a full investigation into this whole mess.
A high-level committee has been set up to find out what went wrong . It's being led by Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Deoranjan Kumar Singh,and has officials from the Odia Language,Literature and Culture Department and the General Administration & Public Grievance Department too.
Their main job is to find out exactly where in the printing process these mistakes happened,and more importantly,who is responsible for this carelessness .
And tbh,the numbers are just shocking . Reports say there are a total of 1,678 errors across the new textbooks . Can you even imagine? Class VIII materials alone have 705 mistakes. Subjects like Sanskrit,Social Science,Literature,and Mathematics are all affected. This is not small thing ah.
Few points that really stood out to me:

- Government's Commitment: CM Majhi has made it clear he wants high accuracy standards and action against those responsible.
During one review meeting,CM Majhi expressed his serious concern about how this affects students' education . He has called for immediate fixes and for strict action against whoever is found guilty .
And honestly,this is where things get really sad . Think about the students who have been using these books. They are trying to learn,but the material itself is wrong.
The government is promising to fix everything quickly,which is good . They are saying this is about upholding educational standards and making sure students get reliable learning materials.
But the question is how did this even happen in first place . So many checks and balances,and still 1,678 errors made it to final books that went to children… it just makes you wonder.
