Another worrying stray dog attack has come from MGR Nagar,Chennai and honestly,this one is scary because children were also caught in it . On night of February 24,2026,four people were injured near Nagathamman Koil Street in Sanjay Gandhi Colony.
Victims have been identified as K. Panneerselvam ,a local painter,along with P. Pradeep (25),B. Bhuvanesh (13),and S. Hariharan (6) . All were reportedly bitten while they were in that area,and six-year-old child getting injured like this is not small thing ah.
And this is not just one random incident for residents there . People in neighbourhood have already been raising concern about growing stray dog issue,and after this attack,fear has obviously gone up badly.
The injured were first taken to K.K. Nagar Government Hospital . Later,they were referred to Royapettah Government Hospital for further care,while S. Hariharan (6) is getting specialized treatment at Egmore Children’s Hospital .
Few things standing out clearly here:

Madras High Court has also initiated suo motu proceedings to address dangers posed by stray dogs in both Tamil Nadu and Puducherry . That itself shows issue has gone beyond one lane or one colony only.
Community leaders are now asking for stronger measures to protect residents,mainly children,from such attacks . There are also discussions around animal control policies,vaccination initiatives,and reducing rabies risk and other health hazards linked with stray dogs.
But real question is,how long will residents keep waiting between fear of another attack and slow official action…
