This is honestly very disturbing news from Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar,Mumbai . A newborn baby was found abandoned on bathroom floor outside Ward No. 40,and whole thing came to notice only because infant started crying.
And just imagine that scene for one second . Hospital bathroom,cold floor,helpless newborn crying there… not small thing ah. For hospital staff and local authorities,this quickly turned into panic situation.
Police Constable Jitendra Vishnu Patil,who was on duty in casualty department on night of May 25,reportedly got distress call from young man named Vishnu Shriram Patel . He informed him about crying infant inside bathroom.
When Constable Patil reached there,he saw newborn lying on floor . Medical staff were immediately called,and with their help baby was rescued,cleaned and shifted to Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) . Doctors later confirmed child was in stable condition.
Few things standing out in this case:
- No delivery records found — Hospital records show no indication of a woman giving birth during that time.
- CCTV footage under review — Authorities are examining surveillance footage to identify mother.
- Infant remains under care — The newborn is currently safe and receiving medical supervision.
But this is where case becomes more confusing . Initial investigation says there is no official record of any woman undergoing delivery procedures at hospital during relevant timeframe. So police suspect woman may have given birth in bathroom itself and then fled from scene.
Tilak Nagar Police have registered case and are now searching for unidentified woman believed to have abandoned child after giving birth . They are checking CCTV footage from different areas of hospital to trace her movement.
And tbh,this is heartbreaking from every side . One newborn left like that,and at same time one unknown mother who may have been under some extreme fear,pressure or helpless situation. Nobody knows yet what exactly happened inside that bathroom .
For now,baby is safe under medical supervision while police continue search . But this incident does raise uncomfortable question about support systems for new mothers facing crisis,because something went terribly wrong here…
