Alkem Laboratories Limited results are looking like one of those mixed report cards where revenue side is strong, but profit number suddenly makes everyone pause . And honestly, that 27.7% fall in consolidated net profit is not small thing ah .
Company reported consolidated net profit of ₹236 crore for fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026,down from ₹306 crore in same quarter of previous financial year . Main reason being discussed is one-time loss of ₹135 crore during quarter, and that naturally raised some concern among investors.
But at same time, revenue picture is not weak . Revenue increased 14.6% year-on-year to ₹3,603 crore compared to ₹3,144 crore in Q4 FY25 . So business demand side still looks active, especially in pharmaceutical sector.
And this is where numbers become slightly confusing for normal investors . Profit fell, but earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) actually climbed 32.2% to ₹517 crore,up from ₹391 crore in previous year .
EBITDA margin also improved to 14.4%,compared to 12.4% in same quarter of FY25 . Meaning operations seem to be doing better, but that one-time loss has spoiled final profit picture badly .
Few things standing out clearly in Alkem numbers:
- Consolidated net profit dropped 27.7% to ₹236 crore from ₹306 crore.
- Revenue grew 14.6% year-on-year to ₹3,603 crore compared to ₹3,144 crore in Q4 FY25.
- EBITDA rose 32.2% to ₹517 crore,with EBITDA margin improving to 14.4%.
Alkem has also announced final dividend of ₹10 per share, subject to shareholder approval at AGM . Record date is set for August 7,so shareholders eligible on that date will be in line for dividend payout . Earlier, company had announced previous interim dividend of ₹43 in February 2026.
And despite profit pressure, total estimated payout to shareholders from declared dividend is nearly ₹119.57 crore . That does send one message that company still wants to keep investors comfortable, even when headline profit number is looking weak.
Another update is appointment of Madhurima Singh as Executive Director, effective December 20 . Leadership changes at such time always get watched closely, because market wants to see how company handles cost pressure,one-time losses and growth expectations together.
Now all eyes will be on upcoming annual general meeting and what management says about this ₹135 crore one-time loss . Because revenue growth is there, operating performance is there, but profit hit is also there… so investors will want proper answers before feeling fully relaxed…
