This NEET-UG retest in Coimbatore is honestly not feeling like normal exam arrangement anymore . After serious allegations of question paper leak in original examination held on May 3,2026,every small detail around June 21 retest is now under watch.
Final arrangements are being finalized for June 21 at 15 centers across Coimbatore district . And this time,officials seem very careful because trust issue is already there among candidates and parents.
The big thing is question paper movement . Routes for distributing question papers are being kept confidential,and collection points will be told to center officials only on morning of exam . Police escorts will also move with question papers to examination centers,which shows how sensitive whole matter has become .
And on June 20,nodal officer for Coimbatore inspected arrangements at centers . Biometric verification systems and jammers are being put in place to stop malpractice . Not small thing ah,when exam is already happening after leak allegations.
Few things standing out clearly in this retest:
- Extended exam duration is now 195 minutes,first time for NEET-UG .
- PwD candidates eligible for support will get extra five minutes of compensatory time.
- 7,181 candidates have registered for retest across 15 centers in Coimbatore district.
Candidates will be allowed to enter examination centers from 11 a.m.,and gates will close at 1:30 p.m. . This timing is being kept so everyone can be checked properly before exam starts,and honestly,after what happened earlier,strict entry process was expected only.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is clearly trying to repair damage here . More security,more checking,confidential routes,police escort,jammers,biometric systems… everything is being added so people feel this retest is fair.
But tbh,for students who already prepared,appeared,and then got pulled into retest because of alleged paper leak,this is mentally exhausting . Extra 195 minutes may help during paper,but pressure before exam is different story.
And that is where this whole issue feels uncomfortable . Security can be tightened now,but question many candidates and parents may still have is simple — why did things reach this point in first place…
