Key Takeaways

  • Over 65,000 candidates registered for NEET (UG) 2026
  • 185 exam centers established across Andhra Pradesh
  • Strict protocols in place for examination day

For students and parents, this is one of those days where every small arrangement matters.

State government says preparations are in place for exam day . Narayana Bharat Gupta,Commissioner of Higher Education, has been appointed as State Nodal Officer to oversee whole process, which makes sense because coordination across 185 centers in 27 cities is not easy at all.

Exam will happen in pen-and-paper Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) format . Timing is from 2 PM to 5:15 PM,so candidates really need to reach early and not take chance with last-minute traffic, checking or document issues.

And one State-level control room has also been set up at Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education in Mangalagiri . Main idea seems to be faster communication between examination authorities,Chief Superintendents of examination centers and District Revenue Officers (DROs).

For coordination, government has appointed 16 Principals from Government Degree Colleges and 28 Heads of Sections from Government Polytechnic Colleges as Liaison Officers . Tbh,this kind of backup is needed when exam scale is this big.

Few things candidates should keep in mind:

  • Exam timing is from 2 PM to 5:15 PM,so reaching early is safer.
  • Strict adherence to protocols has been stressed for transparent process.
  • Dedicated helpline has been set up by Anantapur district administration for assistance .

In districts like Nandyal and Kurnool, local arrangements are also being done around security, transportation and other support . In Nandyal,1,521 candidates will appear at five centers, while Kurnool will host 4,995 candidates across 16 centers.

District Superintendent of Police Vikrant Patil and other local authorities have assured proper security measures . And at same time, candidates have been told to follow guidelines, dress code and rules on permissible items without confusion.

Students are also being advised to rely only on official communication from National Testing Agency (NTA) and report suspicious messages or activity to authorities . This part matters because exam season always brings fake updates and panic messages.

For many families, this exam decides admission path into undergraduate medical courses,so pressure is already high . Now it all comes down to whether arrangements actually work smoothly on ground that day…
