Looks like some serious political drama is brewing inside MDMK party rn . The veteran leader Vaiko is apparently under big pressure to rethink his party's whole alliance with DMK.
And this is all happening after the recent Tamil Nadu Assembly elections . MDMK was part of the DMK-led group and they managed to secure two Assembly seats . But now with new TVK government in power,led by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay,the whole equation seems to be changing.
During those elections,MDMK got four constituencies to contest . They won in places like Sirkazhi and Kadayanallur,where candidates Senthil Selvan and Rajendran got elected . But the main issue for many inside the party is that they had to contest on DMK's Rising Sun symbol.
And honestly,that's where the identity crisis seems to be coming from.
This has led to a lot of internal talk about the party needing a more independent path,especially with new government in place.
Few key things to watch out for:

And recent events are only adding more fuel to this fire . For example,MDMK’s Principal Secretary and MP,Durai Vaiko,welcomed Chief Minister Vijay during his visit to Tiruchirappalli . And his comments were very telling.
He said,"Unfortunately,we contested on the DMK symbol. We are a separate movement." This is not a small statement ah. It clearly shows the unhappiness .
Because of this,there is even talk that MDMK legislators might resign from the Assembly if party finally decides to support TVK . That would be a huge move.
The General Council meeting on June 27 is now the main focus for everyone . Whatever they decide will definitely shake up the alliances in Tamil Nadu politics .
But will they really take such a big step and break from an old ally to support new government… it's a very risky game…
