Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi came out with a very strong statement on June 2, 2026 . He is saying "zero tolerance" and "zero compromise" on drug trafficking. And this isn't just talk,the Ahmedabad police just seized over seven kilograms of methamphetamine. value is something like ₹14.16 crore . That's not small thing ah.
And route is also worrying. Reports say the meth came from Jaipur and was going to Mumbai,but they caught it in Naroda area of Ahmedabad. It shows how big these networks are,using states as transit points.
Sanghavi even posted on X about it,celebrating the police work. He wrote, "Naroda Police delivers a crushing blow to drug trafficking!" and praised them for stopping the peddler before he reached his destination .
And honestly,this is the kind of proactive action we need to see more of.
The whole operation sounds like something from a movie . Police got specific intelligence that one man was travelling on foot from Nana Chiloda Circle with the narcotics . PSI V.R. Chaudhary and his team set up surveillance and caught the guy.
They arrested Mohamadsajid Mohamadusman Sheikh,who is 48-years-old . When they searched his blue bag,they found 7,084 grams of meth. They also found a phone,cash and his ID documents.
