This is not small back-and-forth ah,because matter has now reached police case,impersonation claim and internal party rivalry angle also.
Harsh Sanghavi has accused Kejriwal of fabricating allegations against state police after arrest of two men,including Ashok Oza,who is president of AAP's Vadodara city unit . Case is linked to investigation into alleged impersonation of an Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer.
On May 30,Sanghavi made one very sharp comment aimed at Kejriwal,saying,"The number you called belongs to your own man. Why are you building bundle of lies by portraying him as an IB officer?" And that line itself shows how bitter this fight has become between Gujarat government and AAP .
This whole controversy actually started on May 28 when former Delhi MLA and AAP leader Durgesh Pathak accused Gujarat Police's IB wing of harassing AAP workers . After that,Kejriwal also pushed same claim further,saying he personally called number involved and person on other side identified himself as an IB officer .
And tbh,this is where story became more complicated . Kejriwal questioned why such verification process was being used against his party workers and also urged others who got similar calls to come forward.
Few things standing out clearly in this case:
- Anand district police traced mobile number to local resident after allegations came out .
- Police said call was made by Nitin Dobariya,a labour contractor,who falsely claimed to be from the "Karelibaug IB Office".
- Investigators noted incident came from internal conflicts within AAP,as targeted AAP worker,Keshavji Chauhan,was seen as political competitor.
After police findings,Sanghavi did not hold back at all . He said,"World records are broken by best . In fraud, in lies,in fakeness,Kejriwal stands undefeated." That is not normal political criticism,it is direct attack on credibility only.
He also questioned AAP more broadly,saying,"What can one expect from a party whose very foundation rests on lies?" Sanghavi added that in Gujarat,truth will prevail against such petty politics . Clearly,government side wants to frame this as not police harassment,but fabricated political narrative.
A case has been registered at Anand Cyber Crime Police Station under various sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita,2023,and Information Technology Act . Police have confirmed that investigations are still ongoing.
But at same time,political damage from this may not stop with one police case . If allegations were false,that raises one question,if police version gets challenged,then another question starts… and Gujarat politics is clearly not cooling down anytime soon…
