This Gujarat political fight has gone into very messy zone now . And honestly,whole thing sounds less like normal allegation-counter allegation and more like one confusing drama around fake IB calls,AAP workers and internal rivalry.
Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi has accused Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal of spreading misinformation regarding alleged Intelligence Bureau (IB) verification call . This came after Anand Cyber Crime Police arrested two individuals,including a senior AAP official,for impersonating IB officer .
Issue started getting louder after Kejriwal claimed that AAP workers were being threatened by people posing as IB agents . Then former Delhi MLA Durgesh Pathak also posted allegations on social media,saying AAP members were being contacted by Gujarat police impersonating IB officials .
And then Kejriwal backed those claims,saying he had personally called number involved and was misled by person on other end . But Sanghavi hit back strongly with one sharp line: "The number you called belongs to your own man. Why are you building a bundle of lies?"
Few things standing out in this controversy:
- Anand Cyber Crime Police arrested two individuals,including a senior AAP official,for allegedly impersonating an IB officer .
- Police said call made to AAP worker Keshavji Chauhan came from number traced back to Nitin Dobariya,a labor contractor.
- Police said call was meant to intimidate Chauhan,who was seen as political rival by Ashok Oza,the president of AAP's Vadodara unit.
And tbh,this is where matter becomes more uncomfortable for AAP . Because according to police,the impersonation was not some outside conspiracy only,but allegedly connected to political competition inside party itself .
After these revelations,Sanghavi went full attack mode on Kejriwal and AAP leadership . He said,"World records are broken by the best . In fraud,in lies,in fakeness, Kejriwal stands undefeated." Strong words ah,not small political comment .
He also said,"What can one expect from a party whose very foundation rests on lies? This is the character of Kejriwal and his associates." Sanghavi then pushed Kejriwal to rethink how he does politics in Gujarat,saying he would be held accountable for his statements there.
Police have registered case against those involved under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita,2023,and the Information Technology Act,and investigation is still going on rn . But bigger question is still hanging there… if this was really internal rivalry,how many more such political stories are sitting under surface?
