In a deeply disturbing incident, the Government Railway Police (GRP) have apprehended three individuals, including the father of a 16-year-old girl, in connection with what is suspected to be an honour killing. The victim, identified as Shabba, was found dismembered and stuffed inside a box on the Chhapra-Gomti Nagar Express at Gomti Nagar Railway Station in Lucknow. This horrifying discovery came to light on May 17 when railway staff discovered the unclaimed box, which contained the girl's mutilated body, sparking an immediate investigation.
The accused, including the victim's father Viggan Ansari, her aunt Noorjahan, and uncle Mojibulla Ansari, were arrested in Kushinagar district following an extensive inquiry. Police officials revealed that initial investigations indicated Shabba was allegedly involved in a love affair, which led to her family's outrage and ultimately resulted in her tragic demise. SP Railway Rohit Mishra confirmed that two "banka" weapons, believed to be used in the murder, were recovered from the suspects during their arrest.
