Wow,the internal fight in Trinamool Congress is now coming out in open . And it's getting very messy, very fast.
Recently expelled MLA Ritabrata Banerjee has just launched one fierce attack on party General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee . This happened right after his expulsion,so you can imagine timing is not coincidence .
The main point of attack was Abhishek's request for Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) security . This came after he faced some public backlash at event in Sonarpur. Ritabrata directly questioned, "What kind of a mass leader is he?"
And honestly, that's a very direct shot. He even brought up how Abhishek went into seclusion for nearly a month after the party's big electoral defeat on May 24 .
The contradiction he pointed out was quite sharp ah . Ritabrata said, "He previously claimed that the public would protect him; now he seeks security for himself." That statement really shows the level of anger.
But criticism didn't stop there only . Ritabrata also slammed what he called corporate-style management approach to the party, and he blamed Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) for it . He feels this has undermined all foundational work of Mamata Banerjee.
He was still respectful of her though, saying,"There are very few leaders like Mamata Banerjee, and I will continue to respect her despite the current turmoil." This shows the fight is more with the new leadership, not the party founder.
Few things standing out clearly in this situation:
- Public criticism of leadership—Ritabrata Banerjee openly challenges Abhishek's credibility.
- Party's electoral defeat—the TMC faced significant losses in recent elections.
- Internal party tensions—Ritabrata's remarks signal deeper issues within TMC.
And just for context,Ritabrata and another MLA Sandipan Saha were expelled after an investigation by West Bengal Police's Criminal Investigation Department (CID) . It was something about signature mismatches on assembly resolutions. So this whole thing is very complicated.
With all this happening, you have to wonder what is actually going on inside the party . This isn't just one person being angry,it feels like something bigger is brewing…
