When deadline shifts from June 5 to June 10,it shows committee itself feels more listening is still left .
The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has now given extra time to its poll debacle review committee after committee requested more time to collect feedback from party members and candidates . Earlier report was expected by June 5,but now submission date is June 10 .
And this is happening under party President M.K. Stalin, after DMK’s unexpected defeat . Party seems to understand that quick report just for formality will not help much if real anger and ground-level problems are still not heard properly.
The review committee was formed soon after result shock and it has 38 members . Their job is to study what exactly went wrong, from campaign issues to local complaints to voter perceptions . They are moving across Tamil Nadu and speaking with district leaders, constituency functionaries and local workers.
But tbh, ground feedback can be messy . Every area will have different story, some blaming candidate selection, some blaming local organization, some blaming campaign style . Still, that mess only tells real picture sometimes.
Few things standing out in this whole review process:
- Online feedback portal launched to collect suggestions from party cadres and public.
- Nearly five lakh responses received with critiques on campaign strategies and candidate selections.
- Focus is now on organizational reforms and future election strategy.
And nearly five lakh responses is not small number . It means lot of people inside and around party had something to say, maybe frustration, maybe suggestions, maybe both . Feedback is covering campaign strategies, candidate selection processes and local constituency issues.
DMK is trying to show that it is ready for introspection and reform, not just moving on quietly after loss . Committee’s findings are expected to help party decide what changes are needed before upcoming elections, and how to rebuild strength in state politics .
But real question is whether these responses and meetings will actually change anything on ground,or become one more report kept safely after initial noise fades…
