This whole Delhi BJP gathering around 'Mann Ki Baat' feels like one of those political events where party program and public outreach got mixed together in full planned way . And on May 31,2026,Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) made sure it was not kept small at all .
Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra led event where party workers and citizens listened to 134th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat' program . It was organised across 7,568 booths in national capital, which itself shows how seriously party wanted booth-level reach this time.
And Malhotra was not alone in this. He joined senior BJP officials at training camp in Keshavpuram district, while Chief Minister Rekha Gupta attended program at NCUI Auditorium on Khel Gaon Marg with local resident welfare associations and BJP office-bearers . So yes, this was political, but also made to look like community listening moment.
Presence of Bansuri Swaraj,MP from New Delhi, also added weight to occasion . There were inaugurations of development projects too,and senior MLA Satish Upadhyay led review meeting in Malviya Nagar . Basically, one broadcast became centre point for many local activities happening same day only.
Few things standing out clearly here:
- Citizens joined program across 7,568 booths in Delhi.
- Harsh Malhotra compared excitement for 'Mann Ki Baat' with old TV serial 'Ramayan'.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about summer heat and traditional ways like drinking Aam Panna.
After broadcast,Malhotra spoke to media and praised PM Modi's direct style of connecting with people . His exact words were,"Through this program,PM Modi has initiated effort not only to highlight significant national developments but also to identify and showcase talent emerging from every corner of India."
And honestly, this is where BJP's larger messaging becomes clear. They are not treating 'Mann Ki Baat' like just radio address, but like monthly political-cultural routine which people should gather around and discuss.
Malhotra also said program helps build connection between Prime Minister and public . He even compared its anticipation to how families once waited for 'Ramayan' on TV,which is big comparison ah,because that serial had very deep emotional place in many homes.
He expressed pride that 'Mann Ki Baat' has become regular event in households every month . But at same time, question stays whether people are tuning in from genuine habit, party mobilisation,or some mix of both…
