So date is finally set for D.K. Shivakumar's swearing-in ceremony as Karnataka's Chief Minister . And it looks like Congress is planning to make it one very big show.
The event is scheduled for June 3,2026 at 4:05 PM . Location is the Glass House in Lok Bhavan,Bengaluru. It's going to be a formal affair, with Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot administering the oath to Shivakumar and his new council of ministers .
And of course, the whole senior leadership is expected to be there . We are talking about AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge,Rahul Gandhi, and many other prominent party figures. This is pretty standard for such big political events ah.
But it seems they are also inviting Chief Ministers,Deputy Chief Ministers, and Pradesh Congress Committee presidents from different states . It feels like they are trying to send a message of unity and strength across the country.
And tbh, this whole thing about inclusivity is being highlighted a lot .
The official statement says guests from all backgrounds are invited – religious leaders, students, even people from marginalized communities . It's a clear attempt to show that new government wants to connect with everyone.
Few things they are really emphasizing:
- Inclusive representation will be a big theme with guests from all walks of life .
- Shivakumar has promised to focus on policies for farmers, women, and Karnataka's youth .
- His own political journey is being framed as a story of hard work and perseverance .
Shivakumar himself has been talking about inclusive governance lot before the ceremony . He said his rise to the Chief Minister's post is because of hard work, which is nice touch.
But these promises of focusing on farmers, women, and youth are something we hear from every new government . The real test will be in the actual policies and implementation later on.
The ceremony is one thing, but real work starts after that only . All this commitment to engaging with diverse sections of society sounds good, but will it really change things on the ground…
