The political situation in Tamil Nadu is getting very tense ah . Bharatiya Janata Party has gone on full attack against Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam government,and the reason is extremely serious.
BJP state president Nainar Nagenthran released a statement on June 2 that raises huge alarm bells over women's safety . He is pointing to one sexual assault case in Thoothukudi and it's just looking very bad .
Apparently,two TVK party functionaries were involved in that incident at Srivaikuntam . And this is now raising big questions about how safe women really are under current government .
Nainar Nagenthran even alleged that the type of complaints against TVK members has become much worse since they came to power . He said first it was just bribery and corruption,but now it has escalated to things like murder and sexual assault. That's a huge claim to make.
And honestly,this is where things get uncomfortable. The BJP is saying the government is more focused on publicity than actually handling law and order.
Few things standing out clearly in this case:

But BJP chief didn't stop there,he targeted Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay directly . He said the CM's office has immense responsibility and gave a very direct quote. He said, "Instead of engaging in lengthy public speeches,the Chief Minister must recognise the responsibility attached to his office and act decisively to safeguard the people of Tamil Nadu."
He also brought up issue of people with criminal records being in the state cabinet . His question was simple: how can crime be reduced if people facing allegations are being given powerful positions?
According to him,the TVK government doesn't have the experience to handle these kinds of public safety issues and immediate action is needed to make people trust the system again.
With these kinds of direct accusations,it's not just politics anymore . When safety becomes main point of debate,you have to wonder what ground reality really is for common people…
