This Nadia district case is really messy,and honestly,it looks bad from first reading only . Relief materials being found in ten rooms of local club near home of municipality chairman is not small thing ah .
On May 30,2026,police apprehended Biman Krishna Saha,chairman of the Trinamool Congress-run Nabadwip Municipality . Officers had acted on credible information about illegal stocking of relief materials at local club building,close to Saha's residence .
During raid,police found large quantity of items kept across ten rooms of club . Reports mention trampolines,blankets,and sarees among materials discovered there . And this is where local anger started exploding .
Once people came to know about police operation,residents gathered in area and began alleging that Saha was hoarding these relief materials for illicit sale in open market . Protests then broke out outside Saha’s home,and demonstrators accused him of running whole thing as mastermind behind alleged hoarding operation.
Few things standing out clearly here:

And tbh,scene seems to have become very tense very fast . Police had to cordon off Saha's residence and call reinforcements from both local and central armed police units.
Around 3:40 a.m.,Saha was taken into custody while crowd kept shouting insults at him and calling him “thief.” Some protesters even threw water bottles and shoes at him,after which security personnel used mild force to bring situation under control .
Saha denied allegations while speaking to reporters and said,"I am just being taken to police station for questioning. I am not involved in any corruption." But he did not explain why such large quantity of relief items was found so close to his home.
And that unanswered part is what will bother people most rn . If relief materials were meant for public,how did they land inside ten rooms of club near chairman’s residence…and who was actually controlling them…
