Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Satish Kumar Sharma,a nominated member of Meerut Cantonment Board,in bribery case.
This happened on May 29,2026,when CBI caught Sharma red-handed while allegedly accepting bribe amounting to ₹3 lakh . Not small thing ah,especially when matter is linked with tender work and local government body .
As per officials, case was registered after allegations that Sharma demanded illegal gratification for smooth continuation of tender related to parking, canteen, and entry fees at Gandhi Bagh . That place is managed by private firm, and complainant was reportedly operating on behalf of his mother .
And this is where story becomes very familiar also . Someone needs work to continue smoothly, some public-linked person allegedly demands money, and then whole thing becomes about “manage karna” instead of proper process.
CBI reportedly laid trap and caught him in act of demanding and accepting bribe . After arrest,Sharma is being presented before competent court in Ghaziabad, where legal proceedings will start.
Few things standing out clearly in this case:
- Bribery amount was ₹3 lakh for facilitating tender linked to parking, canteen, and entry fees at Gandhi Bagh.
- Satish Kumar Sharma was caught red-handed by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on May 29,2026.
- Earlier this month,CBI arrested officials in separate ₹6,000 bribery case involving CGST office in Meerut .
But honestly, these local-level corruption cases feel extra frustrating because they hit daily life directly . Parking, canteen, entry fees, tenders… all these things look small from outside, but money chain behind them can become very messy.
CBI is continuing investigation into circumstances around Sharma’s actions and any possible accomplices . Reports also say agency may look deeper into workings of Meerut Cantonment Board and check if any other misconduct is there.
And tbh, public anger is understandable rn . People already have very little trust when it comes to tenders and local bodies, and every such arrest makes same question come back again… how many such demands never even get caught?
