This whole fight over government bungalow in Bihar is something else ah. Seems like CM Samrat Choudhary is not holding back at all.
He was speaking in Sheikhpura on Tuesday and basically called out the RJD leadership directly for not vacating their official house . His point was simple, these homes are for work, not family estates forever .
And then he dropped this line: "A government bungalow is not anyone's ancestral property." That's direct hit,no doubt about it.
The whole controversy is over that 10 Circular Road residence in Patna . This is where Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi are staying . Government has already given them another place,39 Hardinge Road, but they just haven't moved. Now state has given them a 15-day ultimatum to get out .
And tbh, this is where the real pressure starts.
To make his point,Choudhary even brought up his own record and praised Nitish Kumar for vacating homes immediately whenever he left office. It's clear political comparison.
- Authorities first sent vacation notice on November 25,2025.
- Samrat Choudhary himself claims he has moved residences 11 times since 1999.
- The state insists move is needed for current administrative needs .
Choudhary also mentioned that when he was a minister, even Home Minister,he never got attached to perks . He said that when he moved into his current house,he put up sign outside saying it was property of the Government of Bihar. Just to remind everyone.
But the Building Construction Department says the family has been ignoring multiple communications about this whole thing for long time . So this isn't a sudden demand.
Right now,the family is still at Circular Road address, and government is saying they have to shift without any more delay .
It feels like this is less about one house and more about political messaging . Making point about who holds power rn… but still, holding onto a house like this is such a strange battle to fight…
