Just read this news about actress Rukmini Vasanth and it is seriously so disturbing what is happening with AI these days . whole thing with fake images is getting out of control.
And now Bengaluru Cyber Crime Police have taken some action finally . They registered an FIR on June 2,2026 against 29 social media accounts for spreading fake bikini pictures and videos of her . This is not a small thing ah .
These people were apparently using deepfake technology to create these visuals of the Kantara Chapter-2 actress . investigation is targeting mix of accounts,like 9 on Instagram,14 on 'X',and 6 Facebook pages.
Rukmini Vasanth in her complaint said these fabricated visuals were made to tarnish her character and were extremely embarrassing for her . And honestly,I can only imagine how horrible that must feel.
She also put out a statement on her social media to clarify everything . She wrote,"My team and I have come across certain AI-generated images being circulated online claiming to be me. I want to state clearly that these images are entirely fake and fabricated." Good on her for speaking up so clearly.
But legal action is what is important here . The police have filed the FIR under parts of the Information Technology Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita,so it seems they are taking it seriously.

And tbh,her point about AI is so correct . During one media interaction,she said,"AI should be used for good purposes and not for harmful activities." It's not just about famous people,this is affecting so many normal women also.
It's also worth remembering she is daughter of the late Colonel Vasanth Venugopal,who was awarded the Ashoka Chakra . She has that strength in her to fight this kind of nonsense.
This whole thing just makes you think,where is this technology going . The police are taking action now,but these things spread so fast online only… it feels like an impossible fight sometimes…
