So now there is big controversy brewing over Ayodhya Ram temple funds . And Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has finally spoken about it publicly, and honestly, the whole situation is getting very sensitive.
On June 19, 2026,he was in Ayodhya and basically said he has full faith in the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to bring out the truth . He also urged all parties to stop making unfounded comments that might offend sentiments of devotees .
And he even said if anyone has real evidence, they should just go and give it to the SIT directly . He promised that accountability would be enforced no matter who the person is. This feels like a very direct message ah.
This whole thing started after Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust itself requested SIT probe on June 13 . But it really blew up when opposition leader Akhilesh Yadav claimed that significant amounts of donations were unaccounted for, which started huge political fight.
And tbh, this is where everything became messy and political.
Few things are happening at same time:
- The fund embezzlement allegations have seriously increased political tensions between ruling BJP and opposition .
- During this same event,Adityanath inaugurated 126 new projects, including a Government Ayurvedic College.
- He made a strong call for unity, asking devotees not to be misled by people trying to tarnish Ayodhya's reputation.
But it's not just about investigation . During the event,he inaugurated projects valued at over ₹378 crore, including that Ayurvedic college and a statue of warrior Jhalkari Bai. He was talking about Lord Ram's teachings and asking for unity .
He also directly attacked the opposition, accusing them of trying to undermine Ayodhya's significance and disparaging the temple's reputation . He even said Uttar Pradesh is no longer BIMARU state but a growing hub for development, crediting PM Narendra Modi and his party's vision for this progress .
It's always a complicated mix when faith, huge money, and politics get involved . The SIT is investigating rn,but you have to wonder if their findings will actually calm things down or just give more ammunition for political fights…
