So this new film 'Lakshmikanthan Kolai Vazhakku' with Vetri has been getting some attention, and now they are saying it might release on June 26 . Director Dayal Padmanabhan seems pretty excited about it.
And he even gave a quote saying,"It has not yet been confirmed but we are looking to release our film on June 26 at this point in time." So it's not 100% final but they are aiming for that date .
But honestly, the first thing I thought when I heard the title was that old, infamous Lakshmikanthan murder case . one with all the big film stars as suspects .
Turns out, this movie has nothing to do with that case at all . Which is a very interesting choice ah.
Instead, the story is inspired by some real events from 1972 . It's about a prisoner on death row and his final hours before he is taken to gallows . That sounds like very heavy and emotional plot. Vetri is playing the prisoner,Arivumathi, and Rangaraj Pandey is playing a character named Sivanandham.
Few things standing out clearly about this movie:
- The film’s title is not linked to famous journalist murder case.
- Storyline is about the last few hours of a condemned prisoner.
- Acclaimed director Vetrimaran has already praised the visuals he saw.
And having Darbuka Siva doing the music is a huge plus, his soundtracks always add so much depth . With a cast that also includes Brigida as Mallika and Saravanan as Sargunam,it seems like they are going for strong performances.
The first look was unveiled by Vetrimaran only, and he apparently praised team's passion after seeing some parts of the film . That's a big endorsement. The movie is produced by K.V . Sabareesh under 2M Cinemas, with the director also co-producing.
Screenplay is by Kavitha Bharathi and Dayal Padmanabhan, and cinematography is by M V Paneerselvam . Looks like a solid technical team behind it .
Still,I wonder about that title choice . It's a bit of a risk to use a name that is so strongly associated with another famous story… but maybe that’s whole point,to get people talking…
