Tripura politics is getting sharper again,and this time Chief Minister Manik Saha has gone directly after CPI (M) . At welcome ceremony for newly appointed state BJP President,Abhishek Debroy,he called CPI (M) "politically bankrupt" and honestly,that is not small statement ah.
Saha said BJP now wants to capture 10 Assembly seats from CPI (M) in coming elections . Since CPI (M) currently has 10 seats in 60-member Tripura Assembly,this is basically full challenge,not just normal political comment .
And at same event,Saha kept focus on party organization also . He told BJP workers that booth-level strength matters a lot and discipline has to be there if party wants to keep dominance beyond 2028.
His line was pretty direct too: "If we want to move in the right direction in life,there must be discipline," . In simple words,he is telling workers that election cannot be won only by big speeches from stage,ground-level work has to match public expectations.
Few things standing out from Saha's remarks:
- He called CPI (M) "politically bankrupt" and targeted its 10 Assembly seats .
- He said BJP workers must maintain discipline and work with public expectations.
- He highlighted progress in education and economic development under BJP governance .
But Saha did not stop at election math only . He accused CPI (M) of spreading misinformation and failing people of Tripura . He also took a dig at their talk about so-called "golden age" during their rule .
And this part is where attack became more serious . Saha alleged that current drug problems in state are direct result of CPI (M) policies . That is strong political blame,and it will surely not go unanswered by opposition side.
He also said BJP's achievements need to be communicated properly to people . According to him,Prime Minister Narendra Modi has acknowledged reform initiatives taken in Tripura,and state has improved in many sectors.
Saha pointed out that Tripura now ranks second among Northeastern states in Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) and per capita income,and has become third-most literate state in India . For BJP,this is proof of governance working on ground .
Still,politics in Tripura is clearly entering aggressive mode now . BJP is talking about taking all 10 CPI (M) seats,CPI (M) is being painted as finished,and 2028 is already sitting in background… how voters read all this is different question only…
