Something really troubling has come out from Thane where three people allegedly cheated eight job seekers out of nearly ₹16 lakh by making fake promises of government jobs . And one of those victims is 49-year-old housewife which honestly makes whole situation feel even more painful.
According to police reports,accused persons allegedly collected total of ₹15.95 lakh from eight victims over course of past year . These people were led to believe that their employment inside Thane Municipal Corporation was basically guaranteed.
And that is what makes this case particularly disturbing . These were not random strangers making vague promises — victims genuinely trusted that TMC jobs were waiting for them .
Three key things standing out from what police have reported so far:

- Accused collected ₹15.95 lakh total and failed to return any money to victims.

Not only did promised jobs never come through,but accused also never returned single rupee back to any of the eight victims . That part is really difficult to process . People gave hard-earned money based on trust and got absolutely nothing in return.
Thane Police have now initiated legal action against all three accused . Authorities say they are committed to thoroughly investigating matter and ensuring victims receive justice . Officers are also looking into whether this could be part of larger network of job-related scams operating in region.
Police are also urging people to properly verify any job offers and organizations before making financial commitments of any kind . Which is genuinely good advice,but also slightly uncomfortable to hear after something like this has already happened.
One thing worth sitting with here is that job market pressure makes people vulnerable in ways that bad actors clearly know how to exploit . Someone desperate for stable income inside government setup… that desperation becomes very easy target for exactly this kind of scheme.
TMC itself has not issued any public statement regarding this incident so far . And honestly that silence is going to raise its own questions among people watching this case closely.
