One corruption case from Telangana is getting attention now,and honestly,it feels like same old frustration again . A public servant allegedly asking money just to not take action against someone… not small thing ah.
Anti-Corruption Bureau ( ACB ) apprehended B. Rama Krishna Reddy,an additional assistant engineer with Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited ( TGSPDCL ),on June 18, 2026 . He was allegedly caught accepting bribe of ₹25,000 near his office in IDA Bollaram,Sangareddy district.
And reason behind this alleged bribe demand is also quite disturbing. As per case,the complainant’s car had damaged an electrical pole on June 12 . After that,Reddy reportedly demanded money from complainant to avoid initiating punitive measures.
Basically,pay ₹25,000 and no action will be taken. That is what allegation looks like.
ACB then laid trap and caught him during sting operation . Tainted money was recovered,and after arrest,accused was presented before special court for cases related to Special Police Establishment (SPE) and ACB.
Few things standing out clearly in this case:
- Bribe amount was ₹25,000,allegedly accepted to avoid action against complainant.
- Car accident involving electrical pole happened on June 12, 2026.
- ACB urged citizens to report corruption through toll-free helpline 1064.
One good thing here is that identity of complainant has been withheld for safety . Because in these cases,people are usually scared to complain only. Fear of harassment,pressure,office rounds… all that becomes real problem.
ACB has again said people can report bribery involving public servants through 1064,and confidentiality will be protected . That message matters because unless public comes forward,these small-small demands continue like normal routine.
And tbh,this is what makes corruption so irritating . It does not always look like huge scam . Sometimes it is one officer,one file,one threat,one accident,and suddenly common person is expected to pay.
Investigation is still continuing,and question now is whether this ends with one arrest or opens up more about how such demands happen inside public service offices…
