So just saw some interesting news coming from New Delhi . Rabi Lamichhane, the President of Nepal's Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP),made big visit to BJP headquarters on Tuesday. Seems like a very strategic move to build better relations.
And he got a warm welcome from BJP chief Nitin Nabin . It wasn't just official thing either, lots of Nepalese community members were there to greet RSP delegation. That shows how much this visit matters to people .
The main point of the visit is to talk about governance, how parties are organized and things like that . Basically,an exchange of ideas on political strategy and public outreach.
And tbh, this is smart politics .
They are saying this is all part of an effort to make the relationship between RSP and BJP much deeper . It's not just about government-to-government contact anymore,it's party-to-party .
Few things standing out clearly from this visit:
- Strengthening party relations is the main focus for Lamichhane.
- Discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior leaders are expected to happen soon.
- The whole visit is about creating better understanding and cooperation between political systems of both parties .
This visit is also happening when there is some uncertainty about Nepal's Prime Minister Balendra Shah's own proposed visit to India . So Lamichhane's trip gets even more attention because of that timing .
And this isn't a one-off thing for BJP ah . They have been actively engaging with different political parties from Nepal for some time now . Remember that 'Know BJP' program they did for foreign diplomats? This feels like part of that same bigger strategy to build international ties directly .
So this is more than just one leader visiting another party office . It feels like bigger shift in how politics between the two countries might work in future...
But what will be the actual outcome of these discussions, that is something we have to watch . Will it really lead to something concrete or just remain a photo opportunity…
