NEET UG 2026 is already looking like one massive security operation,not just normal entrance exam anymore . And honestly,with over 22 lakh candidates expected to sit for it on June 21,this scale is not small thing ah .
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is planning to conduct exam across 5,440 centres in 551 cities across India and 14 international locations . That itself shows how huge whole setup is going to be,and also why authorities are trying to avoid any mess around fairness this time.
And after all concerns around exam integrity in recent years,NTA seems to be going very heavy on surveillance . They have installed 1,38,560 CCTV cameras across examination rooms,with live monitoring at national,state,and ministry levels.
On top of that,artificial intelligence tools will also watch live feeds and flag suspicious activities in real time . Sounds very high-tech,but also slightly intense when you imagine every corner of exam room being watched like this .
Few things standing out clearly here:

- 51,311 jammers deployed to prevent electronic malpractice across centres .
- 87,000 personnel mobilized for verification and examination monitoring.
And then there are 51,311 signal jammers being placed across centres so that candidates cannot use unauthorized electronic devices . In today’s time,where cheating can happen through tiny gadgets also,this step was probably expected only .
NTA is also putting over 87,000 personnel on duty for candidate verification and exam monitoring . Each examination room will have two invigilators,with other functionaries handling different operational tasks around centre.
But security is not stopping inside exam halls . State administrations,police forces,and paramilitary agencies are also being brought in,with around 40 to 50 security personnel at each centre . NTA is also coordinating with about 1,500 bank branches to protect confidential examination materials .
Department of Posts will handle collection of OMR sheets from nearly 700 collection centres across country . Whole thing feels like exam plus election-level management together,which tells how much pressure is sitting on NEET UG 2026 rn… and still,students will be wondering whether all this will actually make exam feel fair or just more stressful…
