After question paper leak controversy, how can anyone walk into hall fully calm?
Out of 7,886 registered candidates,6,039 appeared for test . That means absentee rate went above 23% . Not small number ah,especially when exam is connected to medical college admissions and future plans of so many families.
The re-test was held between 2 PM and 5 PM at 21 centres across city . District administration had put tight security arrangements, mainly because whole re-exam happened after serious question paper leak issue which already shook confidence of many aspirants .
And from early morning only, candidates had to go through security checks, frisking and biometric verification before entering exam halls . Authorities also kept stressing punctuality and told students to arrive well in advance .
Few things clearly stood out in Mysuru:
- Out of 7,886 registered candidates,6,039 appeared for NEET-UG 2026 re-examination.
- Over 23% of registered candidates did not attend.
- Re-exam happened after serious question paper leak controversy .
But imagine being student in this situation . You prepare for months, sometimes years, and then instead of just focusing on paper, you are also carrying fear of leak,delay,re-test and uncertainty . That mental pressure is not visible on answer sheet, but it is very real.
Parents and family members also waited outside exam centres with same anxiety . For many homes,NEET-UG is not just one exam,it is whole dream of becoming doctor, getting seat in medical college and changing family future maybe .
And now that exam is over, attention naturally shifts to results and what happens next for thousands of aspiring medical students . Public scrutiny is high because people want fairness, not another controversy.
The bigger question is still hanging there… if students can do their part under so much pressure, can exam system also prove it is clean and fair this time?
