Heavy monsoon rains are battering Mumbai and surrounding areas badly,and state officials are now directly warning people to stay away from tourist spots like waterfalls and beaches .
And this is not just precautionary advice being given casually . Lives have already been lost.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis held one review meeting at State Emergency Operation Centre where he made one striking point . Mumbai has recorded rainfall over last four days that is equivalent to its entire average for month of July . Just sit with that for moment.
That kind of rainfall in such short time naturally brings flooding,waterlogging and landslides . Falling trees have added more problems on top,blocking roads and disrupting transportation services across affected areas . Normal daily life for residents has been completely turned upside down .
Government has now issued red alert for multiple regions expecting gusty winds and heavy rainfall . The warning is especially directed toward young people who might see monsoon season as perfect time for outdoor adventure . Fadnavis directly said,"We must prioritize safety over leisure activities during such extreme weather conditions."

But I do not want to do that,as it will not serve any purpose for the families affected by these tragedies." At same time,regular Mumbai residents are just trying to get through each day . Flooding,blocked roads,cancelled plans… for many people this is not adventure,this is genuine struggle.
Government says it is actively monitoring situation and prepared to take necessary measures for public safety .
