So first flight with Hajj pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir has finally landed back in Srinagar . It’s always such a big moment for families waiting . Happened on June 2,with 144 pilgrims on board.
And it was big deal, even Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and other senior officials were at Srinagar International Airport to welcome them. This shows how important this journey is for everyone in the region.
This year,a total of 4,641 pilgrims from J&K went for Hajj, which is a huge number ah . Out of them,2,583 were men and 2,058 were women.
But this is just beginning of return phase . flights will keep coming until June 16,so it’s a long process. They have to make sure everything is smooth for all these people coming back after such spiritual journey .
According to Jammu and Kashmir Hajj Committee,3,952 pilgrims will be returning through Srinagar embarkation point . This includes 3,631 from J&K,321 from Ladakh, and even one pilgrim from Punjab. And tbh,it was nice to see that 21 women undertook the pilgrimage without Mehram this time.
And honestly, managing these logistics is not a small thing.
Officials have also mentioned some concerns about runway maintenance at Srinagar Airport which could affect baggage and transport . But they are assuring everyone that they have made necessary arrangements. Let’s hope it all works out without any trouble for the families.
Few key things to know rn:
- Return flights for remaining pilgrims will continue until June 16.
- Special facilities including transport and medical aid are set up at airport.
- Families must download vehicle passes from Hajj Committee website two days before.
So for anyone going to receive their family members, remember to get that vehicle pass from the official website . You have to do it two days before flight date only,so plan it properly.
It’s a time of celebration for community as everyone waits for their loved ones to return safely . The whole process highlights devotion and faith of so many people.
Still, with the airport work going on,you just hope the return journey for rest of the pilgrims is as smooth as possible…
