Some stories really make you pause for minute,and this one about Shrishti Dubey honestly feels like that . An 18-year-old aspiring medical student turning up for NEET UG 2026 after such serious accident is not small thing ah.
Shrishti was hit by a speeding vehicle on June 14,and injuries were very severe . We are talking about nine broken ribs and significant lung damage . Just reading that itself feels painful,forget sitting for exam one week later.
And still,on June 21,she went ahead for examination . Not in normal condition also . She was physically weak,needed oxygen support,and had already gone through critical surgery to repair damage to her blood vessels . She had also spent time on ventilator to stabilize her condition .
And honestly,this is where her determination feels almost unbelievable.
Her father contacted National Testing Agency (NTA) because he wanted to make sure she could take exam safely . After that,NTA made arrangements so she could appear without risking her health more than necessary.
Few things standing out clearly here:
- NTA arranged separate examination room and on-site medical support for Shrishti.
- Ambulance was kept on standby outside examination venue throughout event.
- Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan personally contacted Shrishti's family to check on her condition .
She was scheduled to write exam at Binodini Girls High School in Dhakuria,and arrangements reportedly included suitable seating and medical personnel on-site . For someone dealing with lung damage and oxygen support,these small details become very big only.
And tbh,this also shows how much pressure NEET aspirants carry . Even after accident,surgery,ventilator and pain,her first thought was still exam . That says something about her courage,but also about how intense this whole system feels for students.
Her family expressed gratitude for quick response from NTA and Education Ministry,and many people in education circles are looking at Shrishti's story as sign of hope . But at same time,it leaves one uncomfortable question also… how much can one student be expected to push through,even in name of dreams…
