On May 19, 2026, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini convened a meeting to address the pressing issue of income verification for the Parivar Pehchan Patra initiative. He directed the Citizen Resources Information Department to prioritize the completion of income verifications through Gram Sabhas, which are vital for families to access various government welfare schemes. Saini's remarks come in light of many families struggling to benefit from these schemes due to delays in income verification.
During the meeting, officials from the Citizen Resources Information Department, including Commissioner J. Ganesan, reported that discrepancies in income reports submitted by verification teams are hindering the process. To rectify this, Saini instructed that the income figures provided by local operators and team leaders be presented to the Gram Sabha for verification. He stated that the Gram Sabha's decision would be regarded as final, ensuring transparency and accuracy in the verification process.
- Focus on timely verification — Saini emphasized the need to resolve all pending age verification applications through the Additional Deputy Commissioner.
- Inclusivity in welfare schemes — He stressed that no family should be excluded from government benefits based solely on agricultural income.
- Joint committee formation — A committee will be established to address Aadhaar linking issues related to the Dayalu Scheme, promoting coordination between departments.
In his commitment to ensuring that no eligible family is deprived of benefits, Saini also highlighted the importance of verifying the age of applicants based on the age of their eldest child. This approach aims to simplify the verification process and expedite access to welfare schemes for families with an annual income of up to ₹1.80 lakh.
The Parivar Pehchan Patra platform, which has registered over 77 lakh families and 298 lakh members in Haryana, is seen as a pioneering initiative to streamline welfare distribution. Saini's proactive measures aim to enhance the effectiveness of this platform and ensure that all families receive the support they need, thereby improving the overall welfare landscape in the state.
