Another disturbing dowry-linked case is now getting bigger,with CBI arresting Giribala Singh,a former judge,in connection with death of her daughter-in-law,Twisha Sharma . And honestly,when own family names start coming into investigation like this,it feels even more uncomfortable.
Twisha Sharma allegedly died by suicide due to dowry pressures,and now Giribala Singh is scheduled to be presented before court today after her arrest . This happened after Madhya Pradesh High Court quashed her anticipatory bail,which had been granted by lower court just weeks prior.
And this is not some small procedural move ah . High Court stepping in like this clearly shows court was not satisfied with earlier protection given to her,especially when evidence was pointing toward involvement of multiple family members.
Before arrest,CBI officials had questioned Singh for over seven hours at her residence in Katara Hills area of Bhopal . That itself says investigation had already gone quite deep before this latest action.
On May 29,CBI took Giribala Singh to Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) in Bhopal for medical examination . This was done after special medical camp organized at campus,and it had formal approval from Madhya Pradesh Police . An ambulance was also seen arriving at location during procedure.
Few things standing out in this case:

- WhatsApp messages and family statements reportedly suggest abuse beyond just husband.
- Twisha Sharma had been married to Samarth Singh for just five months before her tragic death .
Twisha Sharma was found deceased at her matrimonial home on May 12,shortly after her marriage to Samarth Singh on December 9,2025 . After that,Samarth was arrested on May 22 in Jabalpur and later remanded to CBI custody.
But tbh,the most serious part is what court's 17-page ruling reportedly pointed out . Allegations were not confined to husband alone,and there seemed to be wider family dynamics involved around Twisha's death.
And that is where case becomes bigger than one household tragedy . Dowry pressure is often hidden behind normal family image,smiling wedding photos and polite conversations,but inside,things can be completely different .
Now with CBI involved and Giribala Singh being taken to court,today's proceedings will be watched closely . But for Twisha Sharma,the bigger question still stays hanging… how many signs were missed before it reached this point…
