One more fugitive arrest story has come from Surat, and honestly, this one sounds like proper long-running case finally catching up . On May 29,Special Operations Group (SOG) of Surat City Police apprehended Raja Jha,who had allegedly been on run for approximately three years.
Jha is originally from Vikrampur village in Begusarai district,Bihar . Police say he was wanted in multiple serious offenses including murder, attempted murder, and kidnapping. Not small charges ah .
And what makes this case more serious is that he was not hiding somewhere far away in jungle or anything like that . He was found in Udhna area of Surat, inside room on terrace of Vipul Fashion shop on Udhna Station Road No. 3.
According to police,SOG got specific intelligence inputs and then kept close surveillance on his location . Acting on tip-off,team finally moved in and caught him without incident. Operation was carried out under guidance of Surat City Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot and Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajdipsinh Nakum .
Few key things standing out in this case:
- Multiple serious charges — Jha is wanted in four criminal cases across various police stations in Bihar.
- Connection to murder case — linked to the murder of Rohini Nandan in August 2023.
- Swift operation by SOG — police successfully apprehended Jha without any resistance.
And tbh,the Rohini Nandan case sounds very disturbing . Officials revealed that back in August 2023,body of Rohini Nandan, aged 28,was discovered buried in agricultural land in Begusarai .
Investigations indicated that Jha and his associates had allegedly abducted Nandan, assaulted him,and ultimately killed him using a sharp weapon . This is not some small local fight case,it is proper brutal crime allegation.
After arrest in Surat,Raja Jha has now been handed over to Bihar Police for further legal proceedings regarding pending cases against him . For people connected to victims, this arrest may feel like first real movement after long wait.
But still, one question stays in mind… how many such accused are quietly hiding in other cities, working or staying like normal people while families back home keep waiting for answers…
