Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Friday that all students appearing for NEET-UG 2026 re-test on June 21 will get free travel on Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses .
And simple condition is there, students just have to show valid admit card while boarding . No extra pass,no separate form, nothing like that mentioned . For exam day stress, this kind of small relief is not small thing ah.
Gupta also posted about it on social media platform X,where she said,"To support candidates appearing for NEET (UG) 2026 on June 21,the Delhi government will provide free travel in all DTC buses upon presentation of a valid admit card."
But bigger background here is more serious . NEET-UG examination was first conducted on May 3,but it was canceled after allegations of irregularities came up . After that,Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation also entered picture.
Few things standing out clearly here:
- Free bus travel will be available for NEET-UG 2026 students on June 21 with valid admit card.
- NEET-UG examination held on May 3 was canceled over allegations of irregularities.
- Rekha Gupta also pushed for better public facilities after surprise inspection at sub-registrar’s office in Rohini .
And tbh,for students already dealing with re-test pressure, travel problem on same day only can become another headache . Many students and parents worry about reaching exam centres on time, traffic, costs, confusion… so free DTC bus ride at least removes one issue from list.
At same time, this announcement also feels like government trying to show it understands how heavy this exam is for medical aspirants . NEET-UG is not just one paper for many families,it is years of coaching, fees, pressure and expectations packed into few hours.
In related development,Rekha Gupta also visited sub-registrar’s office in Rohini for surprise inspection . She said government offices should work as centers of public convenience and directed officials to fix shortcomings immediately .
And that part matters too, because people going to government offices usually expect delays, queues and random inconvenience . If this inspection actually leads to better services, then good . But whether these directions change ground reality beyond one visit… that question is still sitting there…
