This Gopalganj firearms display case is now getting more serious ah,especially because investigation has been officially handed over to Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Bihar . And honestly, once CID comes in,it no longer feels like normal local police matter .
Decision was made on May 29 , 2026,after concerns started growing around public safety and political accountability . Case goes back to event held on May 3,where MLA Anant Singh was accused of allowing supporters to openly display firearms .
And this is not small thing . A video allegedly showing supporters brandishing weapons went viral on social media, and after that matter picked up speed very quickly.
Following this,FIR was lodged against nine individuals, including Singh,at local Mirganj Police Station . For many people, this whole incident has raised uncomfortable questions about law enforcement in Bihar and how such visuals even happen in public setting.
Few points standing out in this case:
- Investigation has now gone to Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Bihar.
- FIR was lodged against nine individuals, including MLA Anant Singh .
- Anticipatory bail hearing is scheduled for May 30.
And tbh, political angle is making this even more heated . Opposition parties have criticized government’s handling of situation and are demanding accountability and transparency from government.
At same time,Singh has publicly denied being present during incident . His supporters are calling allegations politically motivated and claiming conspiracy was planned to tarnish his reputation .
Now focus is on court proceedings, where anticipatory bail plea is set to be heard on May 30 . That hearing will decide lot for Singh’s immediate legal position, but bigger question is still hanging there… was this just politics,or did system look away when it should not have…
