This update from Karnataka feels like small protocol change on paper, but actually it says lot about how political access is going to work now . Chief Minister D.K . Shivakumar has announced that all public meetings and interactions will now happen at his official home office,‘Krishna’.
And this decision was made public on June 22,2026 . Earlier, these meetings were happening at his private residence in Sadashivanagar, but that place will no longer be used for such public engagements due to unavoidable reasons.
Honestly, this kind of shift can look simple, but for people trying to meet leader, location and process matter a lot ah . If meetings are centralised at one official place,at least there is some order instead of everyone landing up at private residence .
Shivakumar has also asked public and party leaders to understand necessity of this adjustment and not take it negatively . That part is interesting because clearly he knows some people may feel distance is being created .
Few things standing out in this decision:
- Public meetings and interactions will now happen at ‘Krishna’.
- Private residence in Sadashivanagar will no longer be used for such public engagements .
- Shivakumar has requested public cooperation with new protocol .
And tbh, there is practical side also . When meetings happen at official home office,it becomes easier to manage visitors, legislators, party leaders and common public without everything becoming chaotic.
At same time, accessibility should not become just nice word in statement . People will judge this change by whether they actually get heard at Krishna or just get redirected through more layers .
The move is being presented as way to improve transparency, efficiency and public engagement . Fair enough. But in politics, systems work only when people at gate, inside office and around leader follow same intention.
So now real question is not just where meetings happen, but whether ordinary citizens will feel more welcome or more filtered out…
