Big BJP meeting this evening at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence,and honestly,timing itself says lot . This is not some routine chai discussion kind of thing,party top brass is coming together when Rajya Sabha elections are right ahead .
Meeting is slated to start at 5:30 PM . Senior leaders including Union Ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh are expected there,along with party president Nitin Nabin . Main focus will be upcoming Rajya Sabha elections and how BJP keeps its hold strong in Upper House.
And yes,candidate names are going to be big part of discussion because elections are set for June 18 . In politics,who gets ticket is never small thing ah,it decides balance inside party also and message outside party also.
This meeting also comes after recent setback involving Women's Reservation Bill,which has been seen as major legislative defeat for Modi administration . So naturally,BJP leadership will be looking at how to recover political ground and put Opposition under pressure again .
Few things expected in meeting:
- Names for Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council elections will be discussed.
- Grassroots support and government's achievements will be pushed more strongly .
- Final touches may be given to Nitin Nabin 's team for upcoming elections .
And tbh,this is where party organization part becomes very important . BJP is not just looking at Delhi-level numbers here,it also wants workers on ground to talk about development work done under Modi's leadership as party moves into twelfth year in governance .
There is also discussion expected around Legislative Council nominations in Karnataka,Bihar,and Maharashtra . Maharashtra especially matters because biennial election for 16 MLC seats is coming,and party will not want to leave space there .
But larger picture is clearly not just June 18 . These moves are also being seen in context of bigger electoral battles ahead,including 2029 elections . Candidate choices,regional equations,new team roles… everything starts connecting slowly.
And now question is whether this meeting gives BJP clean direction or more internal balancing has to happen before final names come out…
