The police reported that Singh was wanted in connection with an attempted murder case at the Krishnanagar Police Station and has a notorious criminal background with approximately 26 cases linked to serious offenses such as murder, extortion, and robbery.
The operation unfolded when the Crime Branch received intelligence about Singh's presence at a hotel. Officers successfully located him and initiated the arrest. However, while being transported, Singh attempted to seize a police inspector's service weapon, which sparked a brief struggle inside the vehicle. Inspector Mehul Chauhan recounted, “As he attempted to snatch the weapon, I immediately caught hold of his hand, and a scuffle broke out.”

During the struggle, a shot was fired, resulting in Singh being injured. He was promptly taken to Sola Civil Hospital for medical attention. Authorities confirmed that no police personnel suffered serious injuries, although Inspector Chauhan experienced minor swelling from the altercation.
