This Bhopal court scene honestly sounds like something nobody there would have imagined earlier . Former Principal District Judge Giribala Singh returning to Bhopal District Court,not as judge,but as accused in dowry death investigation… that itself feels very heavy.
On Friday,CBI brought 65-year-old Giribala Singh and her son,Samarth Singh,through corridors full of curious lawyers and court staff . They appeared before Magistrate Shobhana Bhalawe in connection with death of actor-model Twisha Sharma .
And this is not small thing ah. A retired judicial officer,who stepped down in February 2023,standing in dock while courtroom was packed to capacity . People were reportedly watching in silence because sight itself was unprecedented.
CBI managed to get five days of custody for both after tense two-hour proceeding . During hearing,Giribala Singh reportedly stayed composed and kept consulting her legal team again and again.

Samarth Singh was arrested earlier in week,while Giribala Singh was taken into custody on Thursday evening after extensive interrogation . Then CBI brought son into courtroom first,and later escorted former judge to third floor under heavy security cover.
And tbh,what makes this case even more uncomfortable is background of accused . When someone who once sat in position of law appears before court as accused,same system suddenly looks very different from other side .
Public outcry had pushed authorities to move investigation away from local police and into hands of CBI . Now next five days of questioning may decide what direction this case takes,but for Twisha Sharma's family,answers probably still feel very far away…
