Women's cricket in Asia is quietly becoming very interesting now,and this latest qualification news feels like proper proof of that . Thailand,Malaysia and China have qualified for 2026 Asian Games,and honestly,this is not small thing ah for these teams .
The qualifying event happened from May 26 to 31,and these three sides finished as top three . Now they will go to Asian Games tournament which will be held in Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya,Japan in September and October 2026.
And Thailand looked like team with clear plan from start only . They topped Group A after beating both Malaysia and Hong Kong,and then carried same confidence into knockout stage also.
Against China in semi-finals,Thailand were completely dominant . They restricted China to just 53 runs and then won match by 83 runs . That kind of win says preparation was not casual,it was serious.

Malaysia's journey also had proper pressure moments . After losing early to Thailand,they still managed to come back,beat Hong Kong and then chase 127 runs against Nepal with eight balls to spare in tense semi-final . That is not easy when qualification is sitting on your head.
China's qualification was bit different because rain came into picture . In rain-shortened playoff against Nepal,China won by five wickets through DLS method,and that final spot became theirs . Sometimes tournament cricket is like this only,one weather-affected match and whole future changes.
Now Asian Games will have total of eight teams . Hosts Japan and four Asian Full Members India,Pakistan,Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have already qualified automatically,so adding Thailand,Malaysia and China makes tournament more interesting .
Rankings also show how different these teams are in development stage . Thailand are 12th in ICC Women’s T20I rankings,Malaysia are 28th and China are 42nd . But that gap is exactly why 2026 Asian Games could become such important experience for them...
