Ranvir Shorey’s new OTT series The Pyramid Scheme honestly sounds like one of those shows which may hit too close to real life . Not because everyone is in some scam, but because this whole idea of chasing quick success is something many people understand very well.
In series,Ranvir Shorey plays Manoj,a middle-class man who is not just running behind money and fame . His character seems to be looking for respect, purpose and that feeling of finally “making it” in life . And that is where story becomes more than just about bank balance.
The show is built around pyramid schemes and how ordinary people can get pulled into them while trying to improve their lives . That part feels quite real because these schemes usually don’t look dangerous at first . They come wrapped in dreams, confidence and big promises .
Shorey also explained why character attracted him so strongly. He said,"When I read script and my character, I was immediately drawn to it. The story interestingly uses the theme of pyramid schemes to illustrate how ordinary people end up in extraordinary situations in their search for purpose and respect."
And tbh, that line says a lot about Manoj . This is not just some greedy man wanting fast money . It looks more like someone stuck between pressure, ambition and need to prove himself quickly.
Few things standing out from The Pyramid Scheme:
- series will premiere on June 5 on Prime Video .
- Paramvir Singh Cheema plays Goldy, while Shekhar Suman plays Tarun Bajaj.
- series is created by Shreyansh Pandey and directed by Ashish R Shukla .
Trailer also shows Manoj and Goldy getting caught in world of quick wealth and big dreams . That setup itself feels risky because once people start believing success is just one step away, they can ignore warning signs very easily only.
Shekhar Suman has also spoken about his excitement for playing Tarun Bajaj,a quirky character, and this is his first collaboration with Prime Video and TVF . Paramvir Singh Cheema too seems confident about show, especially because of TVF’s style of keeping stories close to real people.
And honestly, this is what makes The Pyramid Scheme interesting before release . It is not just about scam or business model, but about why people fall for such promises in first place . Maybe that is more uncomfortable question than scheme itself…
