This Punjab arms smuggling case is honestly not small thing ah,especially when police are saying five .32-bore pistols,nine magazines,and 22 cartridges were recovered in one operation . It immediately makes you wonder how much more is moving around quietly without anyone knowing .
On May 29,2026 ,Jalandhar Commissionerate Police said they dismantled one arms smuggling module and arrested three people linked to it . The arrested men have been identified as Manjot Singh,Sandeep Singh,and Amandeep Singh,all residents of Gurdaspur.
Gaurav Yadav,the Director General of Police,confirmed arrests and seizure details . And from what preliminary investigation is suggesting,this group was allegedly active in illegal arms trade within Punjab.
And tbh,this is where story becomes more worrying . Because recovery of weapons is one part,but finding where these arms came from and where they were supposed to go is bigger question.
Few things standing out clearly in this case:

Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur said police acted on reliable intelligence and intercepted Manjot Singh near a bus stand in Jalandhar . A pistol was allegedly found in his possession there.
After his disclosure,police quickly picked up Sandeep Singh and Amandeep Singh from their respective locations . Then during interrogation,Amandeep Singh reportedly gave information which led police to recover more firearms.
Now police are expecting further arrests and recoveries as investigation moves ahead . And honestly,that line itself tells you this may not be just three-person matter.
Punjab has already seen enough tension around illegal weapons and gang-linked crime,so one such module being caught raises both relief and worry at same time . Relief because police caught them,but worry because network behind this may still be bigger than what is visible right now…
And that is real uncomfortable part here — how many more such routes,handlers or buyers are still out there waiting quietly?
