After weeks of heavy monsoon gloom,this kind of morning feels almost unreal for city.
India Meteorological Department reported that only 0.34 mm of rainfall was recorded in last 24 hours . That is quite minimal compared to what Mumbai usually sees during peak monsoon period . Apparently this reduction in cloud cover is happening because southwest monsoon is making further advances into Rajasthan,Haryana,Punjab and Uttar Pradesh right now.
So basically monsoon is moving northward and Mumbai is catching brief break in between.
Temperature wise,IMD has projected maximum of around 32 degrees Celsius today with minimum of approximately 27 degrees Celsius . Not exactly cool,but without heavy humidity and constant rain,32 degrees feels much more manageable for most people going about their day.
But and this is important part,sunny morning does not mean clear day ahead . IMD has forecast occasional light to moderate rain later in city and its suburbs . So that morning brightness might just be short lived comfort before clouds roll back in .

Tidal situation is something worth watching closely today . That 3.51 metre high tide in evening is not small thing,especially for coastal and low-lying areas of city which already have history of flooding even during moderate weather events .
Local authorities are apparently monitoring conditions closely and residents are being advised to stay updated through official IMD channels . This kind of mixed weather pattern is honestly typical of monsoon season where morning can look completely fine and evening turns chaotic within hours .
And for people living in vulnerable areas,thunderstorm warnings for Western Maharashtra should be taken seriously . Gusty winds up to 40 kmph combined with lightning is not situation to take lightly.
