Due to severe rainfall hitting several parts of state,Maharashtra government has announced school and college closures . This directly disrupted ongoing Class 11 admission process and pushed authorities to act fast.
So Directorate of Education has now revised timeline for special round of Class 11 admissions . New deadline gives students time until July 8,2026 at 6 PM to complete their admission process . That is actually reasonable decision given circumstances.
Numbers involved in this admission cycle are genuinely large:
- Deadline extended until July 8 — students must finalize admissions by 6 PM on that date .

Around 9,688 junior colleges across Maharashtra are participating in this year's 2026-27 admission process . And so far,14,73,420 students have registered overall with 10,08,094 already securing their spots . Not small numbers at all.
For students who still haven't completed process,education department is specifically asking them to use the 'Proceed for Admission' option available on official online portal . This is important step that cannot be skipped.
Dr. Mahesh Palkar,Director of School Education (Secondary and Higher Secondary),has stated that all updates will be available on mahafyjcadmissions.in . So students and parents should keep checking that platform for any further changes to schedule.
Directorate has also urged junior college principals to pay close attention to revised schedule and ensure smooth processing on their end . Because honestly,when deadlines shift last minute,coordination between students,parents and colleges becomes really critical.
And this is where things can get messy for many families . Rainfall disruptions,document collection,travel issues… everything adds up for students trying to meet deadline in affected areas.
