Case is connected to alleged dowry death of her daughter-in-law,Twisha Sharma, and that itself makes whole thing more sensitive .
On May 28,the Madhya Pradesh High Court cancelled anticipatory bail which was earlier given to Giribala Singh by lower court on May 15 . Justice Devnarayan Mishra pointed out that important evidence materials were not properly looked at by lower court before granting bail.
And this is where matter becomes uncomfortable ah. When case is about dowry death, witness statements and documents cannot be treated lightly . Court basically found that there were serious gaps in how earlier order was passed .
The High Court also looked at witness statements and important documents which allegedly pointed toward Singh's role in events leading to Twisha Sharma's death . So,this was not just routine bail cancellation,it was court saying evidence review was not enough .
Few things standing out clearly in this case:
- Madhya Pradesh High Court cancelled anticipatory bail granted to Giribala Singh on May 15.
- Justice Devnarayan Mishra said essential evidence was not properly evaluated by lower court.
- Allegations include domestic cruelty, dowry harassment and forced termination of pregnancy .
The allegations around Twisha Sharma's death are disturbing on another level . Reports mention domestic cruelty and forced termination of pregnancy against Singh and her family, along with dowry harassment claims . Twisha Sharma died inside her marital home in Katara Hills,Bhopal .
And tbh, when such allegations come against family of former district judge, people will naturally ask harder questions about power, status and whether influence was playing any role earlier . Law is supposed to stand same for everyone, not bend because someone once held position .
Now Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) can move ahead with Giribala Singh's arrest and custodial interrogation after anticipatory bail has been revoked . That interrogation may bring out more details about what exactly happened inside Singh family before Twisha Sharma's death.
But bigger issue is still sitting there only. Dowry cases keep coming, domestic violence keeps hiding behind family walls, and many women suffer silently till something tragic happens . Courts can cancel bail,CBI can investigate, but what about pressure that builds inside homes before anyone outside even knows…
And this case now leaves one uneasy question hanging: how many such stories are still being managed quietly behind respectable family names and social image…
