Honestly, this is one of those cases where public attention never really went away .
The state government is now asking court to enhance sentences given to convicted individuals, including Sunil N.S. ,commonly known as Pulsar Suni . At same time,it is also challenging acquittal of four other accused, including prominent actor Dileep .
And because name Dileep is involved, case naturally gets even more public reaction . But beyond celebrity angle, core issue is still about assault, justice and how system handles such sensitive cases .
Earlier,Ernakulam Sessions Court had convicted six individuals . They were sentenced to 20 years’ imprisonment each on two counts of gang rape . Court also gave ten-year sentence for assault and criminal force intended to disrobe victim, and one-year sentence for wrongful confinement.
That is not small thing ah. These are heavy findings, and now state is saying punishment should be harsher for those convicted .
Few things standing out clearly here:
- State wants increased sentences for convicted individuals, including Sunil N.S. , commonly known as Pulsar Suni.
- Appeal also challenges acquittal of four other accused, including prominent actor Dileep .
- Case is again raising questions around justice, accountability and treatment of women in film industry.
And tbh, this is where matter becomes bigger than one courtroom argument . For many people, this case has already become symbol of how difficult it can be for women to fight when powerful names and public attention are involved.
But court process moves in its own way only. Kerala High Court will now look at state’s appeal, and whatever happens next will matter not just for individuals involved, but also for how people see legal system in such cases.
Still, one uncomfortable question stays hanging… when case becomes this high-profile,does justice become clearer,or even more complicated?
